Anticipating Meaning – Video Pieces

I am interested in the relationship with language and meaning that the video works are able to create (or more, disrupt), and I have a specific interest in the way that the viewer of the videos anticipate context or logical order. The words in the video are performed in a linear way, but resist a cohesive relationship, instead they disrupt each other’s meaning. In my recent experiments I have worked with the build up of the ‘sentences’ beginning with one word and then adding another word on as the words repeat. The sentence begins to grow, but an anticipation of any meaning or context for the words is frustrated. The words continuously construct and then are destructed in a continuous loop, making it difficult to distinguish the intended order, and frustrate a natural search for any developing narrative.
